Aleks Mitreski

Aleks Mitreski has been involved in the NEPOOL stakeholder process for over 18 years. Alex is currently Senior Director, Regulatory Affairs, for Brookfield Renewables, where he represents the interest of a renewable portfolio of assets that supply power from a large pumped storage generator, conventional hydro generators, wind plants, solar plants, and large-scale batteries.  Aleks recently completed his third term as Supplier Sector Vice-Chair.

Before his time with Brookfield, Aleks worked in ISO New England’s Markets Development and Operations Support departments.  During his time at ISO-NE, Aleks used his operational experience and economic theory to design various aspects of the energy market, Forward Reserve Market, and the Forward Capacity Market.  Working with NEPOOL stakeholders across all Sectors, Aleks has presented various proposals, market rule changes, and has also authored several written testimonies at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

Prior to ISO New England, Aleks was employed by Entergy as an Engineer at its System Operations Center in Arkansas. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University and a Master’s degree in Business and Administration from University of Arkansas at Little Rock.  Aleks currently resides in Massachusetts, is married and has two children.
