Dave Norman

Dave Norman is Manager of Regulatory Support and Market-Based Solutions at Versant Power – the utility covering eastern and northern Maine.  In that role, Dave helps bridge two worlds: building, maintaining and operating the grid with energy policy development.  He led the Engineering and Asset Management group for Versant Power before taking on this “translator” role.  He helped develop Versant’s interconnection policies during the massive increase in interconnection requests emanating from 2019 Maine legislation.  Dave is Versant Power’s NPC member.

Following BS and MS degrees in engineering from Cornell University Dave has spent 32 years in the utility and generation space.  Dave is a licensed Professional Engineer, Chief Engineer (to operate power plants of unlimited size) and holds a Class A CDL (the highest level of commercial driver’s license).  He grew up on a farm and tree farm and still loves to saw lumber – something he started doing at age 13.  Dave lives in Holden, Maine with his wife and four children.
